About Ivan

Ivan Polanco is an up and coming singer/songwriter hailing from New York. An avid drummer in his beginnings as a musician, he later discovered the guitar through his father, Dennis Polanco. Both father and son would combine their talents to form the band EveningSon, and with the experience of having played live beginning at the tender age of 10, Ivan quickly gravitated to the intricacies of the guitar.
In his pre-teen years, he has covered classics such as Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E", and an eclectic slew of artists from various genres, ranging from The Beatles, to Radiohead, and George Michael. From this musical palette, Ivan soon created original songs, and would become a frequent performer in his high school's Songwriters Club, headed by his father Dennis Polanco (who happens to teach English at the school). By the summer of 2009, at only sixteen years of age, and having possessed enough songs to create his breakthrough CD In This Fire, Ivan dove into recording his debut album, produced by his father.
Scheduled for release under the independent label Den, Of Wolves Music by July of 2010, Ivan plans to embark in his new role as singer-songwriter, showcasing this breakthrough CD of clever soulful gems "Deeper I Descend" and the rip-roaring "In This Fire." Having played all instruments on the album, this incredible young dynamo/talent plans to show the world his passion for music.
