In what would take most emcees their whole career to achieve in skills, Cory Park has conquered in what seems a blink of the eye. In and out of jail and prison from the age of 14 to 22 left him with nothing but time to think and a pen to write with, years of pent up emotions found their way on to his notepad. They haven't stopped since.
Hailing from Madison, WI. Cory Park (aka O. Dot), *formerly "O.D. "(which he got for being known to "overdose" on his music), has perfected his craft. Writing since he could pick up a pen and rhyming since 13, Cory was always a music lover. With a passion and work ethic devoted to hip hop, Cory has worked with many of Madison's most prosperous artists, and is co-founder (along with Siggie Sedge) of 9 Delegates Music (with I Need A Raise Records). From doing a show with TECH N9NE or recording a track with Capone from legendary hip hop group CNN, Cory Park has "it".
Making his mark in the mid west with his hardcore lyrics, gritty voice, and a show performance that has been known to "break necks". You are less likely to hear the typical rhyme about 24 inch rims and money to the ceiling, and more likely to hear a rebellious flurry of vernacular ammunition and metaphors on "roids". Although, Cory also touches on a variety of mind numbing topics, rhyming detailed stories with constant flow and rich harmony. Winning the Editors Choice Award from Poetry.com and publishing numerous poems to books and cd sets. Song writing is what sets Cory Park apart from the rest.
Since releasing his project, "The Dot.U.Mentally" (of Cory Park), on Feb. 24'th 2010, the buzz created has spread like wild fire. With 22 tracks and a different concept to match each one. Great beats and a flavor for all tastes, "O.Dot" is bringing you hip hop at it's finest.
Staying involved in the community, Cory volunteers his time at local community sponsored radio (89.9 wort), on Saturday nights playing local, underground, and old school hip hop on, " The Cipher Zone". An extremely self proficient musician, Cory also juggles his own recording and engineering. The production on the other hand comes from an array of credited producers, such as platinum record producer DJ Pain 1 of The Fall Guys (I Need A Raise Records), DJ Skooly, Da Ricanstructa, and Memory.
Networking and recording with more than a handful of Wisconsin's most talented hip hop and r&b artists, such as J Stills, Jesse Lester, DLO, Emcee Starr, Lucha Libre, Deck Squad, LOST SOULS, Two Towers, Isodynamics, Siggie Sedge, City C, Flip Philmore, CZR Crackalini, and many more keeps him up to par. Underground is the vibe you get, comical punch lines with a realistic message.
You can still catch Cory Park and his "partner in rhyme", Siggie Sedge, as well as the whole "I Need A Raise" crew, (Lucha Libre & The Fall Guys), rockin' a show at The High Noon Saloon, Annex, or any other notable venue in the Madison area if they're not out of town.
