Song Description

With age comes the wisdom of realizing how one's own behavior may have negatively impacted their partner's insecurities.

Story Behind the Song

One of the verses was inspired by the opening lines of the Charlatan's song: Just Lookin'

What an unusual opening? The little pipe organ is an engaging and sweet start to a song that builds well to the chorus. Equally the first entry of the lead voice is a musically significant point of the song for me. Your voice has real overtones of Ed Harcourt and frankly so does the off-centre feel of the entire track: all of which is good. I would like to know if the 'miss-sync' is deliberate or not, as it generates an odd but compelling drive to the song which without it would make the track a little ordinary.
Harmonically, structurally and lyrically secure again with some interesting twists and turns along the way.

My heart fell to the ground
Fell so low,
I can't pick it up now.

My head's in the clouds
Got so high
I can't pull it down.

Life will bring us hope x2

And I'll share in all the pain
All the shame
I caused you over the years

And I'm not looking
To see what I'm missing
You started the riot**

Life will bring us hope

And I'll stay clear of all the fears in your heart...
I'll stay clear of the fear.

(**verse inspired by Charlatans UK)
