Song Description
Loosely defined, the word Raga could be thought of as the Indian word for song, but there is actually no real English equivalent for it. Rather, on a much deeper plane, the concept of the Raga is far greater. It is a combination of many characteristics such as the notes, number of notes used, note classification, song structure, time of day
performed, etc., that are all used together to form an acoustical painting so to speak. This particular song would fall in the ?dance/electronica? genre, hence the name ?Ragatronic?. I wrote and completed it in a record setting 4 days at the end of August 2002 after getting hit by a sudden, creative bolt of lightning. The lyrics are mainly from Indian and African folk songs.
