Story Behind The Song
Wrote this song with Philip Donnelly, one time Everly Brothers guitarist. We met at a songwriters collaboration workshop and made time to get together. Strange story related to this collaboration, while we were dicussing what kind of song to write i happened to use the phrase "you can't take it with you when you die" and Philip was startled as he had written the same words on a pad the previous day.

Lyrics
CAN?T TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU DIE
I?ve got cars, I?ve got yachts
I?ve got, lots and lots and lots
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you when you die
I?ve got a crib, in L.A.
It?s too far out they say
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you when you die
Lately I been askin? myself
Is this where I wanna be
Lately I been tellin? myself
It?s up to me and nobody else
It?s been up, it?s been down
It?s been square, it?s been round
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you when you die
SOLO AND REPEAT MID 8
I?ve got heart, I?ve got soul
I can rock, I can roll
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you when you die
Come out and heal, the preacher said
Get your, lazy ass out of bed
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you when you die
Don?t know the reasons why but you
Can?t take it with you
Can?t take it with you
Can?t take it with you when you die
