Lyrics
Lemonade Pie
As a little girl,
I thought the lemon
was a sourpuss,
Jealous of its sugary fruit peers.
I would throw lemons to my dog
like tennis balls and
Toss lemon peels for my cat
to dance with
on the floor.
My cat and dog and I
were saving the world from lemons
Chasing the sourness away.
But then Mother made me a pie
of lemon meringue
I bit into that gorgeous
slice of heaven, and
I screamed ?LEMONADE PIE!?
How sweet a sour
lemon could be
It had to be magic!
I grinned
And marveled at Mother?s
magic pie, and
We danced with the lemon peels
on the floor.
Now the lemon
Brings sweet memories
to me
of lemon meringue pie
and Mother.
