Song Description

Pop/Rock song, a humourous recollection of one night in the club scene. Upbeat with a great tight mix of bass and drums with accenting acoustic guitar/piano, and a trademark wah wah guitar too. Catchy chorus leading up to the one word "Squish!"

Story Behind the Song

The lyrics describe the story behind this song. I was at a bar one night and haven't seen this girl in a while. Her friend decided I wasn't right for this girl for no reason!(what's up with that?) and decided to do anything she could to keep me away. I never had more fun in one night getting rejected by someone, I think because it was from her friend. I hope to see the one girl again someday, until then, I have this song to remember the night by.

Lyrics

Squish!
Words and Music by Virgil Cain

A townie bar down on State Street
It?s been 6 months since I walked through that door
I girl I knew walked by, said hi
She said, remember me? and I couldn?t lie
I rambled on what she said before

You?re that girl from the South Side
I remember your first and last name
Her friend said psycho, how could he know
Said get away, you got to go
My memory now gave me shame

Chorus:
I thought that I could have caught her, but her friend said ?you wish?
It?s like she took all the water and made me feel like a fish
Everyone turned around
Everybody heard that sound
Squish!

I never have a pick-up line ready
But had to find one fast to get on my feet
I thought it was so good when I listened
But these times have so changed,
I should Control-Alt-Delete

Her friend said I was getting more crazy
Then she stomped her heels and grabbed my friend?s arm
I said to her: you don?t even know me
But you can blow me up and pull the alarm,
That?s not right you know

Chorus
