Song Description

A song about hearing lessons from your past to guide you now, but still missing those people that aided you.

Story Behind the Song

This song was originally two different songs. One about losing a loved one, and another about being in love. While in the studio it turned into one song with each verse dedicated to those ideas, but with the overall aesthetic that the protagonist is hearing voices guiding him/her through the song.

Lyrics

ALONE (I Can Hear)

Lyin' awake thoughts spinnin around my head
Throw the sheets back and I sit up in my bed
I can still feel where you used to lay
All the promises you told me yesterday

What if these words were never felt
What if my cold heart it melts

I can hear you tellin me to hold on
And I just want to hear your voice
I need you hear to tell me its okay
I just need to hear you say

Drivin through the foothills moonlit sky above
Feel the breeze run through your hair
I can still remember every word you said
What do I do without you there

What if these days have come and gone
And I can't seem to move on

I can hear you tellin me to hold on
I just want to hear your voice
I need you here to tell me its okay
I just need to hear you say

I can hear you tellin me to hold on
I just want to hear your voice
I need you here to tell me its okay
I just need to hear you say
