Song Description

So happy to be rid of my husband and glad he's your man now, so that I can enjoy him from a distance. He's flaws are now no longer annoying, just cute.

Story Behind the Song

It's based on my own experience of meeting my ex's new girlfriend and feeling relieved to not have to deal with his quirks anymore and we can all just be friends now. Fun to make fun of him still!

Lyrics

Heard through the grapevine you found a new man
Used to be mine, better run while you can
Just teasing honey, I wish you the best
If you can handle him, I'll be impressed
Come join the party, just got the decree
Now that it's legal, the next one's on me

He's your man now
Mind if I say that again?
Honey, he's your man now
Did I here some someone say, 'Amen?'

I'm not gonna sit here, and list all his faults
Just be on your toes if he asks you to waltz
Ain't bad to look at, I'd even say cute
Cruising the beach in his Speedo and boots
He's warm, and attentive, yes, I'll give him that
But does he still nod off right after the fact (act)

{Chorus}

Last week I woke in the still of the night
I wished he were still next to me
But when I arose in the clear morning light
It felt so damn good to be free

He's your man now
Mind if I say that again?
Honey, he's your man now
Did I here some someone say, 'Amen?'
