Song Description

A song about the feelings after a break-up.

Story Behind the Song

I wrote this in a dream after a past relationship had ended. I woke up, recorded it on my computer, and then went back to sleep.

Enjoyed the flow of the song. Nice work on the guitar. Open and honest lyrics. Reminiscent of Ricky Nelson "Lonesome Town."

    - Chris Boyden

i like a song that doesn't conventionally job. very interesting tune with commercial possibilities, very sparse production has its merits.

    - Warren Hein

You cried out to me through my dreams,
I felt so compelled I woke up.

You were leaving here for some place else,
it seemed like you didn't want to go.

no matter how hard that I tried,
I could not bring myself to move.

you looked at me with those pained eyes,
but you were just beyond my reach.

You aren't mine,
not even in dreams,
not even in dreams.

I hear this song everywhere now,
I see that your face hasn't changed,
you are worn, but your love is still there,
I knew that you'd keep it with you.

Some things in this life are so strange,
some things in this life are so sad,
you came and were gone with the fall,
the seasons they change with my mood.

You aren't mine,
not even in dreams,
not even dreams.
