Song Description

A song about pushing through the difficult times and dealing with hurt, about focusing on the good times and good people in life.

Story Behind the Song

This song was inspried by a Kenny Lamb Contest. When I asked my 6-year old son what I should write about he said "People like you work with" (disabled children) then he added "And nice people!!" The second verse was inspire by my best friend.

Lyrics

The Goodness
Verse 1
Walking to the bus now, her daddy by her side
Kids are laughing at her, she tries hard not to cry

A higher place
Saving grace
We all need one thing
To keep us moving on

Chorus
Too often it's just mean words
Days that feel too hard for you
Hold it all together, you'll weather
The storms you're going through
Thank god for the nice ones
Kind people here and there
Dry up all your tears make yourself stand
And smile at the goodness when you can

Verse 2
Waiting on the tables working double shifts
People screaming at her but she does it for her kids

A higher place
Saving grace
We all need one thing
To keep us moving on

Chorus
Too often it's just mean words
Days that feel too hard for you
Hold it all together, you'll weather
The storms you're going through
Thank god for the nice ones
Kind people here and there
Dry up all your tears make yourself stand
And smile at the goodness when you can
Sometimes hate and hurt weighs you to the ground
Reach on through the shadows baby
'Cause your Grace it will, it will be found

Too often it's just mean words
Days that feel too hard for you
Hold it all together, you'll weather
The storms you're going through
Thank god for the nice ones
Kind people here and there
Dry up all your tears make yourself stand
And smile at the goodness when you can

Dry up all your tears make yourself stand
And smile at the goodness when you can
