Castaways written by Tony Chapman

Story Behind The Song

the idea, feeling, realization that we are all alone - in the final analysis: only ""I can do it - apply this to the whole human race: we are all alone on this planet. I wrote the song quickly - it poured out without much thought - once I had the chord sequence to the chorus. The song may have come because I've been living in another country for many years - sometimes feeling marooned on an island. What I like most about the song is that the chords in the second part of the chorus are different from the the first part of the choru: clever that! :-)

Song Description

slow rock/bluesy/ theatrical, magnificent, EPIC song about us all being alone - all in the same situation - marooned together on this planet/island EARTH. (so why fight, etc? - we are all in the same situation, together!). Full of vivid, thought provoking poetry orchestra, choir type harmonies . concert piano, build ups, climaxes, contrasts - unforgettable chorus.
