Story Behind The Song
I thought it would be interesting to write a song in the same fashion as Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower", with the verses performed in reverse order of temporal occurence. It portrays a feeling of inadequacy in the face of a greater power, yet the point is to try to get there...right?
Song Description
This song is about an apocolyptic campfire discussion between two long-time beings.

It?s not as if there?s anything to cut your drama or your bullshit
So won?t you spare me my time this one time
And don?t tell me that it?s like nothing that?s ever been
I see it like everything else, yeah?for what it is
And I won?t go,
to the unknown,
to get swallowed
So yeah, here we sit again, you?re my so-called-friend and very best enemy
A certain fate awaits our pastime
?Cause we?re cut from the same cord, with different blood, lunatics in the mix
But who?s the bastard, I always forget?
And I won?t go,
to the unknown,
to get swallowed
So what, you found me once again, but you?ve got to admit, has anything really changed?
We?re growing old and none the wiser
So say you?re the teacher and I?m just a fool, a simple pawn in the game,
We?ve made it all the way back to stalemate
And I won?t go,
to the unknown,
No I won?t go,
to get swallowed,
No I won?t go... to get swallowed
