Story Behind The Song
I still remember that last weekend of summer when you had to head back to school as a kid. When you get older it's that last labor day hurrah hanging out with freinds at the beach. I have always found summer to be a magical time when the world just seems a little different. So I write about it alot. I'm also enamored by seaside towns so they also creep into my writing. This was two summer songs merged into one. I love those scratchy guitars!
Song Description
Endings, changes and good-byes. They're all inevitable but always come to soon. This is about the last weekend of summer where everything starts to close down and you either head back to school or back to work. The weather starts to get cooler. Fall is closing in on you. It's that last dance. That's final high point "like a wave before the crash". When everything seems so right and you know life may never be that good again. Remember when you were young it felt like the summer lasted forever. If only we could return to those lazy summer days.

Lyrics
VERSE 1
Summer's Over
Radio blasting from my car
The top rolled down
These boardwalks sounds
So sweet to me
CHORUS
You went away too fast
When the sun went down
Like a wave before the crash
In the summer haze
VERSE 2
Summer's Over
Feeling it in the air
The shutting down
This seaside town
I couldn't leave without you
VERSE 3
Summer's Over
Fall is closing in
This passing tide
We'll never find
Another day together
CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
VERSE 4
Summer's Over
Time goes by so fast
One last slow dance
One final chance
Before it fades to nothing
CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
REPEAT VERSE 3
CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
TAG
In the summer haze
End of summer days
