Story Behind The Song
When I was in Iraq, I read the Bible in Contemporary English Version, and the line "chasing the wind" hit me really hard. It took me roughly a year to sit down and write the words, and another three years before I was able to write the music. I guess you could say I was "chasing the wind" in trying to write "Chasing The Wind".
Song Description
It is a song that is about how if we chase after fame, fortune, sex, drugs, education, or anything else that is not God, we are in the end wasting our time. No matter what we do, someone has done it before. No matter what record we may set, someone is going to break it. No matter how rich or famous we become, someone will become more rich and famous. In the end, everyone, rich or poor, famous or not, we all die. Everything comes to an end, expect our relationship with God.
