I really liked the strong intro, the guitar was amazing and the instrumentation in this song was highly energetic and engaging. I give you high marks for production and instrumentation. Vocal is clean and clear; I understood 99% of the words, great job. Dark garden, nice use of internal rhyme. Those words sound good together. Work on more clever lyric writing to make the song even better.

    - Kate Carpenter

Contemporary sound, well produced. The style of the writing is very folk (eg the repeated lines, the imagery of garden and oak tree and use of minor chords) which is unusual for the pop genre, but I think it worked well with the rocky arrangement, and this also gives it a distinctiveness which is sometimes lacking from general pop songs. And I liked the unusual intro. Initially I marked the hook as 3, but on a second play I found it really grabbed me, so upped it to 4. I reckon this is what they call a 'grower'. And for market potential I marked 3, but it's a borderline 4 for me because I'd like to see more unusual material like this in the pop charts.

Lyrics

Dark Garden

When the darkness fills the air I'm moving again
towards the dark garden where I have peace
I found my love there under an old tree
I found my love there under an old tree

Judy, that's the name I repeat today
Under that loving tree I'll meet you again
Since we met there once it has been our place
Since we met there once it has been our place

Oh, you dark garden I owe you much
You gave me lovely love under that old tree
If you didn't exist I'd never know what the love is
If you didn't exist I'd never know what the love is

I tell you people go to the dark garden
Sit under that old tree with your dear friend
Love goes through both of you it's true, it's true
Love goes through both of you it's true, it's true
