Story Behind The Song

I used to play for tourists in the beach hotels in Mombasa,Kenya.I observed they were very interested in learning Kiswahili. So i decided to write avery simple song with the most common words which the tourists could sing along with us as they danced to our music. Sure enough,the trick worked.This song went,SILVER,GOLD and PLATINUM in Kenya due to sales to tourists. To date there are over a dozen covers of this song,The biggest by BONEY M of Germany in their KALIMBA de LUNA album.
