Adios has been sung around the country at thousands of venues. The song has been sung at many children's concerts and folk festivals.
"Adios" talks of saying goodbye from your head down to your toes, and speaks of the hard part of saying "Adios" as well as the fact that "everyone I've ever met becomes part of myself" and "Making friends has always meant, much more to me than wealth, but I never cling to them, it's better for my health," which is why we sing "Adios.
Adios* (Pablo Shaheen ©1985 from Little Voices In My Head)
I've never had an easy time saying my goodbyes
Every time I try, tears get in my eyes
Until I learned the secret of this wonderful reply
I sing adi-adi-adi- adios!
Adi- up a high; adi- down a los
Adi- from your ears way down into your toes
Singing adi-adi-adi adios!
If you're feeling sad because you know it's time to leave
Mope and I believe, you'll begin to grieve
But if you realize the best of life is yet to be
You'll sing adi-adi-adi adios!
Everyone I've ever met becomes part of myself
Making friends has always meant much more to me than wealth
But I never cling to them; it's better for my health
I sing adi-adi-adi adios!
