Song Description

In a fun and frantic re-lyric of the Fats Waller classic from 1933, Santa's elves make a last-minute mad dash to meet the looming Christmas deadline

Story Behind the Song

After hearing Mel Torme's amazing holiday re-lyric of the classic Glow Worm we decided we had to give it a try ourselves. The result was better than we'd hoped for and has already been requested for use in a feature film.

Lyrics

They have a new expression way up at that North Pole
To make sure Santa?s helpers stay focused on their goal
To say that things are jumpin? leaves not a single doubt
That every elf has set himself to knock those knickknacks out

This Joint is Jumpin?, it?s really jumpin?
Christmas Day?s a week away I mean the joint is jumpin?
No time for grumpin? start buildin? somethin?
Make some noise and make some toys you see This Joint is Jumpin?

Keep the gift device in gear, no time to take the day off
Kids who acted nice all year are waitin? on their payoff
Production?s pumpin? our heads are thumpin?
We?re in force on the present course I mean This Joint is Jumpin?

This Joint is Jumpin?, it?s really jumpin?
Sleep is nixed ?til the 26th for now the joint is jumpin?
Our workshop?s bumpin? no room for slumpin?
Clear the way and fill that sleigh I say This Joint is Jumpin?

Load the boxes, bins and bags, the candies and confections
Take a peek at MapQuest make sure Rudolph has directions
Each chimney?s clumpin? is primed for dumpin?
Bring the list so no one?s missed I mean This Joint is Jumpin?

This Joint is Jumpin?, it?s really jumpin?
Got to get these quotas met I mean the joint is jumpin?
Each elf is trumpin?, ol? Santa?s plumpin?
Weather?s clear for Christmas cheer, in here the joint is jumpin?

Barbara, Benny, Betty, Bob are bunked out in their quarters
Vixen, Blitzen, Dancer, Dasher got their flyin? orders
Production?s pumpin? our heads are thumpin?
We?re in force on the present course I mean This Joint is Jumpin?

Santa?s crew is there for you I swear This Joint is Jumpin?
