Moondancer

Story Behind The Song

I am not a dancer. I play the drums, I have a very good sense of rhythm but I just cannot dance. My girl-friend loves to dance and sometimes I feel that I am letting her down. Then I realized that it was the music. I couldn't let myself go. I was too conscious about what I was doing. So I decided to write myself a dance track that I could dance to. Moondancer was the result. I enjoy dancing to Moondancer. The part in the second movement where the hihats come on just makes me lose control. Even when I was putting the track together I just could not stop rocking in the chair when this part came on.

Song Description

Moondancer is really about letting go. You've had a hard day, you want to open a door and walk into a world of abandon. You don't want too much tension or edges in your music. You just want to feel good. And you want to feel good for a very long time. There are three movements in Moondancer. The first movement introduces you to the main theme. This is the Moondancer signature. The second movement is about letting go. The beat over and starts to shake you. You enter a new world. The third movement completes the experience by reintroducing the theme and finishing it with a lingering feeling. You want to dance once more.
