Story Behind The Song
Landon was a boy given a very short life, with physical challenges from the day he was born. He passed away before his 5th birthday, and left a wake of pain in his family and community. This song was composed and sung at his funeral. He was a prodigy with cardboard puzzles, so it seemed a fitting metaphor to examine how we can go on living when pain and suffering are present., and how God can make some pieces of our lives, like puzzles, so jagged. The song attempts to makes sense of how suffering fits into God's plan, while expressing in the emotion of the song, how the pain lingers anyway
Song Description
In this metaphorical ballad, a boy & his father discuss why the puzzle-maker creates some pieces to be so jagged. We are left with the hope that although the picture can't be seen until the pieces are in place, the Puzzle-Maker's is more beautiful than we can imagine.

Lyrics
LANDON'S PUZZLE
By Stephen Springfield
VERSE:
He held a piece of cardboard, cut out and colored on one side,
It fits into a farmhouse scene I don?t quite recognize,
?Daddy? why is this piece so jagged?,
As he placed it in his hand,
He said, ?Son, I know you can?t see it now, but it?s the puzzle-makers plan?.
VERSE:
And when we join the pieces together along with His design
We help to build the picture the Creator had in mind,
And the pieces will be so proud of what they never could?ve known,
Their purpose is more beautiful than any one alone.
CHORUS:
Lord we know every child has got a purpose
In Your grand design
Suffer not the children to come to Jesus
Given such a very short time
We will meditate Your Word, and we?ll learn Your heart and mind
But we only see this puzzle one jagged little piece at a time
VERSE:
These pieces of our lives that we turn over one by one
Never show the picture until all the work is done
And when we leave this world and meet with Jesus face to face
We?ll see the pieces that have blessed our lives forever fit into place
CHORUS:
Lord we know every child has got a purpose
In Your grand design
Suffer not the children to come to Jesus
Given such a very short time
We will meditate Your Word, and we?ll learn Your heart and mind
But we only see this puzzle one jagged little piece at a time
BRIDGE:
I can force it, I can make it fit, I don?t want to let it go
Lord, let me see Your picture, let me know the things You know
Help me pick up all the pieces, and leave all the pain behind
There?s a piece I?m looking for I just can?t seem to find
CHORUS:
Lord we know every child has got a purpose
In Your grand design
Suffer not the children to come to Jesus
Given such a very short time
We will meditate Your Word, and we?ll learn Your heart and mind
But we only see this puzzle one jagged little piece at a time
