Story Behind The Song
After a misunderstanding that caused 5 years of silence between two old friends, they finally get together to hash things out. There were unkind things said that were very hurtful. The person who extended their olive leaf to make peace left feeling out of place and out of time. She felt like the right person in the wrong place...that was the inspiration for the first line in the song which reads " a weed is just a flower on the wrong side of town"
Song Description
A person finds faith in knowing that even when things don't work out and people part ways, there is always a song to sing and a new road to take. In the larger scheme of things, we are never alone and though it can be a long way home sometimes, at the end of the day, we will all meet our maker and be welcome.

Lyrics
Verse I
A weed is just a flower
On the wrong side of town
So I won't stay here
If you don't want me around
When halls are haunted
On a once hallowed ground
Chorus
It's a long way home sometime
I'll pack my bags and well I'll
Sing my walkin' song
On the long way home sometime
Verse II
Well you can't fight the weather
When the winds blow strong
Nor two waves crashin'
With the comin of a storm
We're just two soldiers still at war
With what went wrong
Chorus
On the long way home sometime
My feet are tired but they'll still
Get me where I'm goin'
On the long way home sometime.
(Instrumental)
Verse III
Well I'll give thanks to my maker
When my time is at hand
An' I promise postcards
When I reach the promised land
If I don't make it I'll let
Moses take my hand
Chorus
On the long way home sometime
Up on that mountain, well
The view is simply grand
On the long way home sometime
For weed or flower
We're all flowers in the end
On the long way home sometime
Bridge
Sometime, sometime, I feel so far, I feel so far
Oh sometime, yeah sometime, I feel so far, I feel so far, I feel I feel I feel, I feel...
Chorus and out
It's a long way home
It's a long way home
It's a long way home...sometime...
