BPM: 96 Key: E major
[Verse 1] Sun cuts wide, cows go slow, Suzi's herdin', nippin' cow toes. Lucy, hot-blooded mare Prancin', she don't care. A slip 'n a snap-- She went fore, I went back. I met ground, Didn't feel much after that.
[Verse 2] Suzi's lickin' my face, Lucy's standin' in place. Me? Not so much-- What's my name, Didn't know why there were cows. The key turned true, Trucks a-hummin' Figured East-road knows Better than I do.
[Chorus] Ain't it somethin', how life rolls on? One minute you're ridin', next you're gone.
[Verse 3] Country road sign blinkin' slow, Boots felt cold, but in I go. Somethin' smelled Fishy, words got blurred, Waitress watchin' like she'd heard. "What'll it be?" she asked, amused, "A Burger?" I tried but She refused.
[Verse 4] "Apple Pie?" I cried, Her head shook "No", "Sir, it's sushi or nothin' you know?" What!? No brisket or beans, cornbread or greens? Well, fine then, "Ma'am... it's Sushi, I guess!"
[Chorus] Ain't it somethin', how life rolls on? One minute you're ridin', next you're gone. One day you're ropin', next thing is-- You're sleepin' on your chopsticks on, a plate of Raw Fish!
[Verse 5] Woke up later, roof spun' slow, Doctor scribblin', my spurs by the door. Kimono girl sittin' real still, holdin' my hat. Didn't say much, just tilted her head, seein' somethin' I didn't yet. [Bridge] It's funny how roads don't ask? A name means nothing with no one callin' it back? A hit don't mean that you're always done-- Just means you gotta stand anew, in the sun.
[Verse 6] This Japanese steel, the weight of my blade, Rollin' rice and makin' fate get made. She says I hum when the rain comes down, I tap my heel when the wind swings 'round. I don't miss cattle, don't miss plains, But Suzi still knows my name. (wish she'd tell me!)
[Chorus] Oh, how life rolls on. One minute you're ridin', next minute you're gone. One day you're ropin', but next thing is-- You're holdin' up chopsticks, and Puttin' down a plate of Raw Fish. "Yes, ma'am (yes ma'am!) It's Sushi, I guess!"
