Lyrics
"Instead of rejoicing you would do bette to weep; for this gold will cause our country to be soaked in blood" - Paul Kruger, 1886
So many times you've been misguided
So many times you've been betrayed
How many years will you be lied to
You're getting too old to be afraid
It's time to stand up for your freedom
It's time to claim your destiny
And if you think they'll come to save you
You'd better read your history (Cause it's all about)
Blood and gold; gold and blood
After all these years haven't you had enough
Gold and blood; blood and gold
Don't let them rape your land - don't let them buy your soul
Blood and gold; gold and blood
After all these years haven't you had enough
Gold and blood; blood and gold
What have you ever gained by giving up control
Take back your freedom
Reclaim the land beneath your feet
Take back your future
Fight for your children's destiny
Now it's time to be free
With all the things that you've been given
A golden land - emerald sea
Surely the past can be forgiven
Surely it's time to live in harmony
