Song Description

I love the image of God's Eye--- maybe it is not at all human or even round! But it's always there... omnipresence... what does it mean knowing this? How does it help when we think of Him looking at us and/or helping or challenging us?

Story Behind the Song

When I was young, maybe 8 or 9, I had a strong sense of God's presence in my life. I called it the magnet in the sky because it seemed as though God guided me through difficult times, decisions, etc. There was a pull and attraction that pointed me toward the right way and truth, like a beacon, magnet or clear light. I've learned to see through the smoke & mirrors and to accept fear and let go of anxieties by accepting more of God's magnetism! But I'm still a beginner when it comes to deciphering mystery...

Lyrics

God?s Eye
Words & Music By Scott K. Lyons

Well it?s finally getting clearer
been a lifetime all these years
These rainbows are worth chasing
without the smoke and the mirrors
===
God?s eye is like a beacon
shining in the night
Always there to guide us
keeps us doing what?s right
===

Just as every new beginning
comes closer to the end
I reach the same conclusion
no longer trying to pretend
These dreams of love and loving
are constantly in motion
My faithless hope, your hopeless faith
I love all your sweet devotion

===
God?s eye is like a rainbow?
===

Real truth is all that matters
said the blind man to his friend
Dog looked up from the gutter
in a cold and lonely wind
We?re on the road we travel
the journey?s all we got
Fast or slow, don?t matter
as long as we don?t stop

===
God?s eye is like a diamond
shining in the night?
===

~ Instrumental ~

Now it?s finally getting nearer
been a lifetime these few years
Let all that is so holy
in your heart dissolve your fears

===
God?s eye is like a beacon?
===
