Story Behind The Song
Sandra Grace wrote, produced, and recorded this healing song in honor of her late grandfather (nicknamed Santu). The melody is inspired by Santu's unique six-note doorbell. Santu used to play guitar and clarinet professionally in the silent movie theaters of Italy, as well as for his family. He also taught piano to Sandra Grace's mother; both Sandra's primary musical influences. These three instruments are featured throughout the song, which wrestles with emotion but ultimately opens up into a hopeful and healing ending.
Song Description
"The final track, 'Santu,' (her grandfather?s nickname) is dedicated to his memory. The prevailing melody in this song is the six-note tune of her grandparents? doorbell. Although I enjoyed all the songs on this CD, mostly because I appreciate all the variety, I especially liked this instrumental piece." -Adela Brito, Skuawk Magazine
