He was driving along with a twelve-pack on his seat
those Michelobs hit the spot in that Texas heat
he knew when he got home he'd get the lecture of his life
so he started rehearsing just what to tell his wife

when he saw them red lights in his rearview mirror

cause it called to him on those dry dusty roads
