Song Description
A kite is locked in a cedar box in the frost of winter. When spring comes, the kite will be taken out of the box, out to the warmer air and placed on the grass. And ultimately if the kite believes it can fly, it will soar high into the sky, into the clouds, around the sun and moon. Each of us is that kite. Excellent guitar work from Dana West, keyboards from Janet Hood and Paul Caruso?s production make this song soar into the clouds.

Lyrics
I am a kite in an old cedar box
I?ve been lying here through the long wintertime
Nothing but darkness surrounds me
Imagining the day when I can climb
Up to the sun, up to the stars, that would be fun
I am a kite lying on the wet grass
I?m out in the air and it?s springtime again
I listen to birds in the trees
I know I can fly like an airplane
Up to the sun, around the moon, that would be fun
Everybody look at me
Check out my beautiful colors
Gliding above the tree No I won?t come down
Drifting into the clouds
I?m just a speck in the sky
I?m way above the crowds
I see the whole town I see the entire town
I am a kite flying high in the sky
Nothing can touch me but the breezes that blow
Soaring up through the stars, even to Mars
Up to the sun ... that would be fun
I am a kite; I am a kite
