Story Behind The Song
Our family delivered Meals on Wheels as a charitable activity one year. The "Good River" is a metaphor for the steadfast Meals On Wheel volunteers. My records company is named in honor of them.

Lyrics
A GOOD RIVER
By Randi McMatthew
A man with a cracked heart made one small move
It was trivial; nobody cared
When I caught a glimpse, I think it was his right hand
In the air, he said: "I volunteer."
And the dishes floated down in our little town
To the place where the hungry were fed
Oh, the bounty that flowed when a taker became a giver
Give praise for the deluge he led.
He was hit by hope; his voice was electric,
When the shut-in was heard on the phone.
He said: "I was struck by lightning, in a personal crisis.
I won?t let the sick die alone."
Well, angels in droves brought blankets and clothes
St. Peter, himself, said, "That?s curious."
Umm, I call it proof we live on a good river
Give praise for the deluge he led.
Come down and believe
We live on a good river
Where the lonely and hungry are fed
Oh, the bounty that flowed
When a taker became a giver
Give praise for the deluge he led.
Give praise for the deluge he led.
