Song Description

The song starts with an a cappella jazz riff that brings us in to an abrupt start of a moody blues piano with hip-hop style drums. It is emotional, poignant and indignant!

Story Behind the Song

I spent 17 months touring Europe and Asia and was able to collaborate with composer Jaimie Lynn Fletcher during my stay in Seoul, Korea. I was dating a Korean man at the time and found out about the possibility that he had been married while we were dating...this song came naturally, in one very angry lyric. Jamie and I got together after I began writing and decided to do a minor blues. We recorded the last week of our stay in Korea...we had no choice but to go ahead with what we had and my voice was raw from performing six nights a week at a local club and from crying night and day over the disappointment of my love.

Lyrics

'Don't Touch Me'
©2010 Rachel Lynn Sebastian & Jamie Lynn Fletcher

Don't touch me. Don't say my name.
Don't bother with your lying games.
I will never let you love me, again.

I don't care what you're going through;
I don't even know what I'm gone do.
I will never let you love me, again.

Now, sing with me, 'Hallelujah: the truth came to light!'
You never even saw it comin', did you?
Tell me, how long? How long?
How long did you think you could hide?

Don't speak. Don't free your mind.
Don't say whatcha don't mean; I ain't got time.
I will never let you love me, again.

Don't try your psychology.
I don't misunderstand; don't you play games with me.
I will never let you love me, again.

Now, sing with me, 'Hallelujah: the truth came to light!'
You never even saw it comin', did you?
Tell me, how long? How long?
How long did you think you could hide?

You messed with my life, my love, my trust.
I showed you my world; You asked me to give it up.
And all the time, you're living a lie, hiding a wife,
(secrets aside) you're sharing my love with the real Mrs. Right.

I miss you, hate you, love you, resent you...
need you, want you, can't be without you.
I will never let you love me, again.

Now, sing with me, 'Hallelujah: the truth came to light!'
Now, sing with me, 'Hallelujah: the truth came to light!'
Now, sing with me...
I can't hear you!? I can't hear you!? I can't hear you!?
Now, sing with me, 'Hallelujah: the truth came to light!'
You never even saw it comin', did you?
Tell me, how long? How long?
How long did you think you could hide?

Don't touch me.
