Story Behind The Song
This song was written by Matthew Maaskant about the experience of rushing into a romantic relationship shortly after ending another.
Song Description
The music is reggae influenced country. Blasting horns alternate with sorrowful strings to tell the story of a man who has achieved in love everything he tells himself he wants, but a hollow feeling remains. To ask the questions that would address his underlying pain would be to destroy the fragile "happiness" he has found, so he remains trapped by circumstance.

Lyrics
Living large
Living large
A draft tattoo
Sketch of a window
I can't find the view
So I have a dream that
We are at war
I awake to the peace I
Sleep to ignore
But a moon on the water
A question like glass
I'm taken like time with
No time to ask
You are the love that
You'll never find if
You move like the soldier
I left behind
But this is the way we
Cover the ground
Speak like the gesture
Is deaf to the sound
But a moon on the water
A question like glass
I'm taken like time with
No time to ask
