Lyrics
The Waltz
Chorus
Well, It’s been so long since we’ve done the waltz
Could you swing and twirl me once more.
Let’s go left right, left, right, as the music plays on
Swayin’ in and out across the floor.
Do you remember the time when our eyes first met,
you walked up and asked me to dance.
But I was so shy I barely took your hand
as you lead me out onto the floor.
Chorus
Well, It’s been so long since we’ve done the waltz
Could you swing and twirl me once more.
Let’s go left right, left, right, as the music plays on
Swayin’ in and out across the floor.
Has it been that long since we were wed,
Have we forgotten how lovers should be,
Cause I’m now the mom and you are the dad
I long for the young love we had.
If we could slip back, to the past when we couldn’t bear to be apart
You’d call me up and softly say, “I’ll see you tonight at the dance.
Chorus
Well, It’s been so long since we’ve done the waltz
Could you swing and twirl me once more.
Let’s go left right, left, right, as the music plays on
Swayin’ in and out across the floor.
Let’s go left right, left, right, as the music plays on
Swayin’ in and out across the floor.
