Lyrics

Girl on the train
Peter Coburn

I met a girl
She was travelling on my train
And I recognised that our direction seemed the same
Nobody called, nobody turned to speak her name
And noone was there for her as the tears rolled down her face

Girl on the train
beautiful, red hair
I wonder where she's going to
And who will meet her there

I spoke to her
I simply asked was she ok?
(she tried to explain)
but the words wouldn't come
as the tears rolled down again
(she tried over again)
I sat with that girl as she cried herself to sleep
(I don't know her name)
And I never knew of the secrets she still keeps
(just a girl on the train)

Girl on the train
beautiful, red hair
I wonder where she's going to
And who will meet her there

And I wonder what the future has in store for her
And I wonder has she secrets in her past
Are there memories that she doesn't want to hold onto
Is she trapped within the shadows they have cast

Girl on the train
Girl on the train
beautiful, red hair
she's beautiful
I wonder where she's going to
Oh yeah
And who she's meeting there

Girl on the train
Girl on the train
so beautiful
beautiful, red hair
Tomorrow is another day
uh huh
And you'll be welcome there
Don't run away

Girl on the train
Don't run away
Girl on the train
Don't run away
Girl on the train
Just don't run away

I like this. It reminds me of a 70's type of pop song. A catchy melody and nicely sung.
I really like the arrangement it kept me interested in the song.

The lyrics were about right for the song.

Great song sounds fresh definite market for this type of song.

very catchy song; nice retro british pop feel

very nice mix!! love the mood from this.
