Story Behind The Song
I heard about a man who made excellent and inexpensive furniture and brooms. I visited him, we chewed the fat for a couple hours and I bought a broom. The next morning I wrote this song.

Lyrics
Apple Dan
Old Apple Dan, the Amish man, lives down by Waterford.
He makes brooms and furniture, the kind you can afford.
He don?t have electricity or a television set;
He don?t have a telephone and he don?t have a debt.
So it?s all aboard for Waterford to see old Apple Dan
Who lives a plain and simple life a living off the land.
We?ll buy another homemade broom from an honest man;
So it?s all aboard for Waterford to see old Apple Dan.
Old Apple Dan lives on a farm, he?s farmed near all his life
He lives there with his animals, his children, and his wife.
He plows his fields with horses and makes things out of wood
It may be a hard life, but a hard life can be good.
Old Apple Dan is growing old now his beard is long and gray
But he keeps on a working hard ?cause a ?Miller?s? made that way.
And there?s cows to milk and eggs to find and horses to be fed
And fruit to pick and wood to cut and the ?Good Book? to be read.
