I received an email containing this story from a friend. It really touched me, and I thought it would make a good song. After writing the initial version of this my sister suggested I try finding

Song Description

This is a poignant story of an old man saying his final goodbye to his daughter. It is a sad song, yet it is also hopeful, as the man is passing along the good wishes his own father gave him to the next generation.

He had long, bushy eyebrows, his beard stubbly gray

His weathered old hands held his daughter's damp face
