Story Behind The Song
After 9/11 I wanted to write a song about that concept but not in the vein of Alan Jackson or Bruce Springsteen, only when the bombings happened in London did the song come together. Then we put some news casts in it to lock in the perspective and meaning.
Song Description
The theme of no hope in a world where the innocent are brought to their knees for no reason. The fact that terrorism achieves nothing positive but death. The song cuts to the London underground and what it must have felt like being on the the victims from the bombings in July.

Lyrics
HOPE
There's no hope for you down here
No hope no matter how long you stare
What did you think
You could achieve?
There's no luck for you above ground
Empty vessels move without a sound
What did you think
We could ever be?
She waters dead plants
Hoping for some kind of sign
I can see from behind these eyes
We won't make it to the other side
No,
So run just as fast as you can
As they shut the doors
I feel it's breaking my heart
And breaking yours
These explosions shake my world
I'm trying not to be scared
But the red and blue lights are coming closer
Don't pick me up, dance with me
I want to run my hands through your hair
I want to feel, want to feel
That you still care
Now I water dead plants
Hoping for some kind of sign
I can see from behind these eyes
We won't make it to the other side
No,
So run just as fast as you can
As they shut the doors
I feel it's breaking my heart
And breaking yours
Blood red lips on a dust filled face
Tell me who came and stole all hope away
These candied apple eyes
Smiles and highs
All yesterday?
No
So run just as fast as you can
As they shut the doors
I feel it's breaking my heart
And breaking yours
Run just as fast as you can
As they shut the doors
I feel it's breaking my heart
Don?t want it to break my heart
I feel it's breaking my heart
And breaking yours
