Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write a song about having my quiet time with God and this is what came out.
Song Description
The metaphor: I'm the plant and God's the Gardener. Spending time with Him helps me to grow spiritually closer to God.

Lyrics
I want to let You roam through the garden of my mind
Yankin? out the weeds, and prunin? down the vine.
My taproot needs some watering; my soul longs for food.
What I really need, O Lord, is Time with You.
I know I?ve been competitive and too concerned with winning.
My plants are getting crowded and they need a little thinning.
You wield a tool of wisdom and you tend me with the truth.
What I really need, O Lord, is Time with You.
CHORUS:
I come for peace; I come to praise.
It seems like every day now, I need some growing space.
I come because You?re God, and I hold my hands up high.
I know you?ll pull me closer. You always have the time.
(humming)
Shrapnel from the latest storm has torn my tender leaves.
On my stem there?s aphids leechin? off of me.
Feed me with Your fertilizer; make me feel like new.
What I really need, O Lord, is Time with You.
CHORUS
