Story Behind The Song
I just thought about the dillema of a thankful person wanting to sing about things he's not grateful for.
Song Description
This is a song about a guy who would like to sing about adultery and unthankfulness in his life, but he's too thankful for his wife, job, life, etc. In the first verse, he wishes he could sing about his and his wife's infidelty. In the second verse, he wishes he could sing about his rotten boss and job. Finally, he wishes he could sing about how rotten this country and world are. It's tongue and cheek. A taxi. com screener loved an earlier version and suggested only a stronger hook at the chorus ends. I've done that. This demo is just guitar vocal. Of course, the song would need a full production.

Lyrics
Well I love to sing about kickin? it up
Shoutin?, carousin?, and kickin? butt
Over the woman who left me and the loser she found
And how she caught me sneakin? around
But the truth is that I love my wife and kids
So let me drive it home the way it really is
Filled to the grill with a tank of the best
Pure unleaded thankfulness
I?m headed down the highway of life
Cruisin? somewhere about 55
For me that?s pedal to the metal
Cause I ain?t exactly tempermental
See I sort of got a mental
Attitude...
I got an attitude of gratitude (3x)
I'd love to tell you that I hate my job
And that I?d love to shove it to that son of a slob
At five o?clock you know where I?d be
Drinkin and thinkin I?m glad to be free
But the truth is that my job is such a gift
So let me drive it home so you can get the drift
Filled to the grill with a tank of the best
Pure unleaded thankfulness
I?m headed down the highway of life
Cruisin? somewhere about 55
For me that?s pedal to the metal
Cause I ain?t exactly tempermental
See I sort of got a mental
Attitude...
I got an attitude of gratitude (3x)
I?m stuck with this thing called happiness
Oh man, I got all the luck
My contentment takes my resentment out back
And just- kicks it in the butt
I'd love to complain that the world?s gone to hell
How nobody cares if I stumbled and fell
I'd love to whine that things ain?t fair
And nothin? makes sense no way nowhere
But I can't do that when my hand?s in the hand of the Man
And I love this place under God on which I stand
Oh, I?m Filled to the grill with a tank of the best
Pure unleaded thankfulness
I?m headed down the highway of life
Cruisin? somewhere about 55
For me that?s pedal to the metal
Cause I ain?t exactly tempermental
See I sort of got a mental
Attitude.
From the beatitudes
I got an attitude...
I got an attitude of gratitude
I got an attitude of gratitude
Stick the pedal to the metal boys
I got an attitude of gratitude
I got and attitude of gratitude
