Great theme song for a dramatic version of, "Shanghai Noon", or modern day, "Kung Fu". The hero has been evicted or banished from his Asian community somewhere in the Wild West, and is on a lonely journey throughout the desert. Seems to have an eery, and lonely beauty, like the deserts in the American West.

Lyrics

Holding Out for You
(Words and Music by Michael W. Avery)

You know you are always on my mind
Day after day, time after time
Now that it's all been said and done
I hope that I'm your special one
Listen Darling

I have been holding out for you
I have been holding out for you

I've waited my whole life just to feel this way
I need someone to care, someone to stay
Now that it all seems worthwhile
My thoughts are with you every mile

I have been holding out for you
I have been holding out for you
No one else could ever do
I have been holding out for you

I'm longing to touch you once again
I'm praying the feeling will never end

Listen Darling
I have been holding out for you
I have been holding out for you
No one else could ever do
I have been holding out for you

I've been holding out
I've been holding out
Though we're apart, you're still in my heart
I've been holding out
I've been holding, holding out
