What is the purpose of religion when it causes division?
Another form of separatism
The past defines a time of death and submission
Attributed to literature
Presented as the source of our existence
So which of them are factual?
And in this modern day practical
So pardon as I ask of you
Does it seem a little radical?
That people still relate and embrace a religion as fact
When in reality it's strictly of faith
Tension now arrives as the people now despise each other
And it generates anger and hate
But go ahead and smile underneath it's quite foul
Positivity the decoy burying debate
A lack of understanding of the seriousness of matter and
History begins to gain its own strength

2nd Verse:
What is the purpose of religion when it hurts us as society
We still don't know the meaning of life
Yet we continue to subject our own beliefs upon each other
Disrespecting our entitlement and right
To formulate our own opinion with the vision of a lack of persecution
By the masses despite
The differences in the manner which we choose to revolve our own existence
In this thing we call life
Lot of opinions
But not a sure answer
Demanding to push your rhetoric as the standard?
Failing to examine the overall affect on the humans
Residing on the many different lands and
Taking different stands in regards to the teaching they embrace
Correlating to their own understanding
"We hold the truth" type of thinking will continue
To neglect the whole world from a fortified banding

3rd Verse:
What is the purpose of religion when we haven't even mastered
What we know to be the truth and exists?
Like how the earth remains the vital source of life to organisms
A position that we cannot dismiss
But yet we look up to the sky for the answers
When the surface can enhance our understanding to which
We believe in ourselves as human beings not
Relying on assuming how we came to exist
We need to come together
Put it on the table
Scratch the notions and the reaching so that possibly we're able to unite
And push the fables out the way
Creating stable types of conversation
Based upon the world instead of just a nation

Strive to find the answers all together regardless of
Upbringing
Places of birth
Revolve our lives around fact
Let's start upon this planet called Earth.
