Lyrics
?The Lost Children? (for Samantha Knight) Meryl Leppard c. mid 90?s
Samantha is in the papers again
It?s been ten long years
Since she disappeared
Her photograph is on display
I catch my breath
As she seems to say
Say a prayer for all the lost children
No matter where they are
Say a prayer for all the lost children
And the mothers who do not sleep at night.
Ebony was such a lovely child
With angel hair and trusting eyes
Her father?s face is more than I can bear
The story told, he just
Sits and stares
Say a prayer for all the lost children
No matter where they are
Say a prayer for all the lost children
And the fathers who often weep at night
I had a dream that they all came running back over the hill
Those precious tender buds they would flower still
And laughter would echo near and far
And peace would finally lay down in all those broken hearts
Say a prayer for all the lost children
No matter where they are
Say a prayer for all the lost children
And the mothers who do not sleep
And the fathers who often weep
Say a prayer for all the lost children
No matter where they are
Say a prayer for all the lost children
And the mothers who do not sleep
And the fathers who often weep at night.
