Song Description

The littel boy who died tragically, Jack, had a 6-year-old sister. The sister was told that Jack would not be coming home, that he would be going to heaven. The sister encouraged her sad mother by saying "Oh, then he will be with great grandma! Don't worry mommy, God has a big back yard and a big house with lots of room". She wondered if Jack would have to wait for a turn on the swing...This was put togther and performed at the funeral a few days later.

Lyrics

God's Big Backyard
Jack's Song
Matthew Stemme and Christ Van Duyn
God has a house with many rooms and a place He prepared for me.
There's all kinds of toys for girls and boys and a swing set that you should see
All of this and more
In God's Big Backyard (repeat)
Jesus is here and He knows my name. He greets me with hugs and with kisses
Laughing and singing and play'n baseball. I never miss when He pitches.
All of this and more
In God's Big Backyard (repeat)
Great grandma and me sitt'n under a tree read'n all of my favorite stories
We sing songs just as loud as we can and chase all the little puppies.
All of this and more
In God's Big Backyard (repeat)
You know I heard ya prayaing
Thanks for hearing what I'm saying
Jesus is here with me playing
In God's big backyard
Now mommy don't you worry
Hey dad I'm too far
Remember I'm just play'n in God's big backyard
Remember I'm just play'n in God's big backyard
One day we'll all be play'n in God's big back yard
