Story Behind The Song
As stated above
Song Description
When I had cancer in 2018 and lived through it, my surgeon suggested that I should write a song about living through cancer as therapy through my ordeal. I chose to make the song about a younger man because I wanted people to know that cancer shows no discretion of age, gender, race, etc. The song eventually is happy due to the finding out that he lived and had the potential to live a longer life. During chemotherapy you see all kinds of people in different stages of cancer and progression of treatment. I remember the few times people were told that they weren't going to live. I was one of the lucky cancer patients who could walk in and out on their own. I never say I have bad days anymore

Lyrics
( verse 1) She said, dear how are you? He said "fine as long as I'm with you./ It won't be long before we welcome baby number two/ The dr gave me five months and I'm just 23/ I fall on my knees/
(chorus) Cuz the fire from within is unforgiven / The fire from without can turn to gray/ the devil tells me life ain't worth living but I just keep believing you're my reason to pray/ The fire from within can fade away
(verse 2) 5 months to the day my baby girl took her first breath/ my angel smiled at me as I kissed her pretty head/ Casting her small shadow on this world of restless dreams/ I fall on my knees/
(CHORUS)
(verse 3) Honey it's been 7 years the longest of my life/ Grateful for my family, 3 kids and a loving wife/ I've learned to live each minute like it's the last one I'll see/ I fall on my knees/
( CHORUS )
