Story Behind The Song
I was very close to my Dad. I wrote this song for him on Father's Day after he died, just after my son (his first grandson) was born. I realized it's was now up to me to teach my son everything my daddy taught me.

Lyrics
Since I was a kid
I looked up to my old man
He always lent me
A helping hand
All I know is I miss
My old man
Taught me sports
How to throw a ball
Picked me up
Every time I'd fall
Win or lose, he loved me through it all
My old man
CHORUS
Taught me (Teach my son) right from wrong
To be strong
How to be a man
Belief in God above
How to love
To be the best I (he) can
Like my old man
He lived to see
My son share his name
And just about that time
The angels came
Now it's up
To me to do the same
As my old man
Like my daddy was to me,
To my son, I will be My Old Man
