Story Behind The Song

We had just finish being homeless and it was our first Christmas in our new home. We had been unjustly and unfairly asked to leave a place by people we thought were our friends just a few months eariler. My wife was taking the kids a going the South Dakota for Christmas and I had to stay because of my line of work. It was around 1:30 am while watching my children sleep under the christmas tree that this song came to be. It was the night before they were to leave to go to South Dakota.
