Story Behind The Song

"Hermione" is based on the "Harry Potter" books by J.K. Rowling. It was written from Harry's perspective and takes place during the second book/movie, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Readers of the Harry Potter series may feel some tension between the two main characters Harry and Hermione, despite their friendship. Is it love or just simply the magic between young friends? "Hermione" is a musical portrayal of the magic, the tension, and the confusion of trying to figure it all out.

Song Description

Written from the perspective of a young boy, "Hermione" builds tension as the young boy's feelings progress from "missing" a young girl, to "needing" her, and finally to realizing that he may be in love. Unfortunately he cannot be certain whether it is love that he feels, because he is simply "too young to know." During the young boy's journey, he discovers that there are "demons" in his heart that he can no longer hide from, demons that all of us face at one time or another.
