Song Description

My brother, Bill, was killed unexpectantly in an accident (walking across the street)... it devastated our family. We had a prayer memorial for him out near the intracoastal (in Florida). The pastor spoke how a family is like the Redwood trees... the roots intertwine and hold each other up during storms and natural disasters to help sustain each other. I visited Yosemite Park in California later that year, specifically to see the Redwood trees and say goodbye to my brother. I sat on a huge boulder, near the top of a waterfall, surrounded by trees and read the book of Genesis. It was a beautiful time spent reflecting on God and my brother, wondering if he ever quite made it to God's kingdom as he was an agnostic most of his life. Toward the end, he discussed God so I am hoping that he came to Christ before he left us. This song was in memory of him and also dedicated to reaching out to others to join and support the Christian family.
