Story Behind The Song
This song grew out of the frustration I felt with the relationship I was having with this girl I was living at the time. We were only staying together because we were comfortable...The song is about me trying to appease this person, who at the time, could not be pleased. The tone is a bit sarcastic and biting, my favorite way to write.

Lyrics
Tightrope
Words and Music by Erik Winger
I?ve been thinkin? that you and I should be friends -
Just start it over; cause there?s no need to defend
Your accusations that seem to pull us apart.
Cause I?ve been tryin? to be the man that you need
But find resistance; sometimes, you?re too hard to please
And, your dissension is slowly breaking my heart
I?m walkin? on a tightrope thinkin?, ?Have I lost my mind??
And, suddenly, the rope is shakin? and you?re the reason why
Now, you?ve been thinkin? a change of scene might be nice ?
We?ll leave tomorrow, and leave our baggage behind;
Just start it over, cause we?ve got nothin? to lose.
So, all I?m asking, is please get off of the phone ?
I?ll be attentive IF you help me carry the load
And we can head out and beat these winter-time blues.
I?m walkin? on a tightrope thinkin?, ?Have I lost my mind??
And, suddenly, the rope is shakin? and you?re the reason why
