Story Behind The Song
Cracks in the Wall is a song about people stuck in a routine such as a job they don't like. Commuting everyday and looking for an escape.
Written and recorded on an 8 track Teac in 1983 - no computers back then - synths were not polyphonic you could only play one note at a time and couldn't play chords.

Lyrics
CRACKS IN THE WALL © 1983 Kevin Glancy
Sitting at my desk in concrete city, imagination running wild
All around they're up, I'm down I'm stuck up here high above the ground
When out beyond my reach lies my destiny outside these walls there must be something else
Well! Now's the time to break out I'm going to find a way out of here....
Chorus
Don't you see the cracks in the wall are just forming there's nothing at all to support me
Can't you see through it all that I'm falling through the cracks in the wall - through the cracks in the wall...
Sitting here surrounded trapped in a window seat grey skies cloud my view
While down the street commuters crawl, stumbling home door to door, go through it all
And living with yourself is never easy no matter how strong the walls won't last for years
So now's the time to break out is this the only way out of here...
Chorus
Can't you see the cracks in the wall are just forming there's nothing at all to support me
Can't you see through it all that I'm falling through the cracks in the wall - can't you see the cracks in the wall
Spoken: No one takes on Associated Amalgamated Consolidated Incorporated and gets away with it - it's conditional within the terms of the contract
Yes! The cracks in the wall are just forming there's nothing at all to support me
Can't you see through it all that I'm falling through the cracks in the wall - can't you see the cracks in the wall...
