What a beautiful song, such a sentiment in the lyrics. Very relatable song to so many people I am sure, Beautiful, lyrics brought tears to my ears

    - Milly

There is some very nice lyric phrasing within the song, and I felt the singer (as I assume it is a demo) was able to be connected with the sentiment so the song works on that level as it rather universal theme for sons with Fathers who were born pre 1960.

Lyrics

Something Left to Say
Written by Ken Matthiesen and Joyce Scott copyright 2011

(verse 1)
Dad, I got something left to tell you
Three simple words long over due
Our final words here, in this hospital
Look what it took to break down our walls

(Chorus)
I know I'm going to lose you here any day
All I can do is watch, hold your hand, and pray
Dad, I always loved you, though we didn't see things
quite the same way
I can't let you go when I have something left to say

(verse 2)
Every time you close your sunken eyes
I catch my breath and I realize
I've lost another chance to sit and talk
I don't want to waste one minute at all

(bridge)
I can't let you go until
I got to tell you how I feel
I got to tell you 'I love you'

(Chorus)
I know I'm going to lose you here any day
All I can do is watch, hold your hand, and pray
Dad, I always loved you, though we didn't see things
quite the same way
I can't let you go when I have something left to say

I love you, Dad
